The Great Bridge 1.1Darkness covered the open space of the Ashwood Labs hangar, broken only by a small desk light perched on a table a few paces ahead of me. Illuminated by the lamp were my parents and two other men, both of whom looked strikingly familiar, but I couldn't accurately place them. They were discussing something furiously, animatedly waving their arms about, and constantly throwing glances between three large dark shapes in the distance and me. Those shapes, or more accurately impossibly large pillars, rose far above my head and into the gloom that hung about the space. The space around them warped and fluctuated constantly, keeping me from clearly seeing what they truly were.I walked closer to their small huddle, eager to listen in, and slid up against the desk to keep myself hidden. Words were flying fast and loose, but soon I was able to get the gist of their argument. Those shapes had a problem, or maybe they were the problem, and no one could settle on what was to be done with them.
