And now I'm raging like a fire, burning up
Through everything I see
Phoenix isn't her real name. She got it from her habit of jumping on flaming pirate ships, completely wiping out the crew, and then leaving unscathed. Casually. She may also have a slightly unsettling love of fire (that clearly doesn't come from the author at all).
Do... do you know how hard it is to find good tutorials/references for shading dark skin? And then vitiligo, on top of that? I mean I'm kind of pleased with how I did, but honestly I think I could do better. I just... ugh. Also, dreadlocks! Not pleased with how I drew those, either. Oh well.
I'm gonna try and draw one of these up for each of the main four PoV characters. We'll see how far I get, especially since I don't have that clear of an idea on one of them's appearance.

Well, even though this is gonna be instantly refused, you should be very pleased with how this came out. And even if you're not, well I think it's pretty darn awesome, my dude...so there.
I also didn't realize she had the love of fire thing...but why am I not surprised, honestly? XD I hope this is just, like, casually mentioned in the book, just so that the other characters preset have to do a double take on whatever she said.
