I DID IT!!!! I finished the final book of the Emily Windsnap series!!! And it feels SOOOOOO GOOOOOD!!!!!!! I can proudly say that Emily Windsnap is an overall really good series. I can now truthfully say it’s good having read all 9 books. NGL I do like some volumes more than others, but that could be simply because I’m no longer the target demographic. It got me through tough times as a kid, and then again as an adult once COVID hit. I started this series when I was 12 years old – same as the title character – feels like I’ve grown up with her as the series continues. After the 4th book I put down this series for about 10 years, because… I got busy with school, and just life in general. I thought Book 4 really was the last one. After watching so many shitty series finales (Game of Thrones, Pirates of the Caribbean, Star Wars, etc.), I was scared Emily Windsnap would end on a shitty note. A combination of factors got me back into finishing the series… Discovering the later

Just came back from watching “Moana”...PROS: Animation, Polynesian setting, music by Lin-Manuel Miranda, Dwayne Johnson as Maui, Au'li Cravalho as Moana.CONS: Typical unoriginal Disney Princess plot about a teenager defying overbearing parents to explore new worlds alongside some cute sidekicks and some eccentrics wise mentor who's the only one who understands them. With typical buddy road trip story of a guy and girl constantly bickering back and forth only to suddenly start getting along with each other after overcoming some peril together.
