A NEW LIFEI wanted a new life A life of excitement A life of adventure I go to the cities I got all I wanted I landed in jail for a night That didn't stop me I kept causing trouble Got into a gang I witnessed a murder I went to my big brother Within minutes I held my brother As he died in my arms I got a new life but it has now gone to far

I see it in the west The dark clouds Flashes of lightning I feel the wind on my face I hear the thunder The news reports It's getting closer My heart and steps Are gaining speed The phrase "calm before the strom" has a whole new meaning My eyes fixed on the storm The wont move But then I get a glance of the east A beautiful aray of Red, Pink, Yellow, Orange, and purple All mixed in the clouds I see the sun poking up I forget about everything Going on behind me It didn't take drugs, booze or cutting All it took Was turnin around To see the beautiful picture God was painting All that was need was to Look to the east
