Chesmire

This is an exercise for a playwriting course I had almost two decades prior. The idea is to practice word association, just writing down a series of words which may or may not relate to all other words, thus potentially creating writing themes and ideas out of the exercise--a fancy way of saying "brainstorming". This collage is not much more than a simple exercise--I haven’t imagined an actual character reciting it--and I wrote it mostly for the sake of practice and seeing whether I know how to make a collage. I was working on the concept of a concept, trying to make a string of words and phrases appear relevant and as a whole--is this what’s known as “Stream-of-Consciousness”? My teacher at the time told me of one author who used movie lines for inspiration and for a starting base.
