Grief
Simba, Prince of the Pride Lands was lounging on a rock in the gorge, just thinking. The golden lion cub had nearly gotten himself and his best friend, Nala in serious trouble yesterday by trying to approach the Outlands uninvited. They had been rescued thanks to Bakari, Simba’s adopted cousin. The golden-furred wolf had his father’s gift for diplomacy.
“Hey, cousin,” Bakari padded up to Simba. “What are you doing all the way out here? I’ve been looking for you.”
Simba sighed. “Thinking about yesterday.”
Bakari sat at the base of the rock, looking up at his cousin with an amused look in his green eyes. “Did your dad rip into you?”
Simba shook his head. “Actually, once he got the lecture out of the way, he taught me something valuable. Respect has to be earned. Respect that isn’t earned is just fear.”
“That sounds about right,” Bakari grinned. “So, no more uninvited sojourns into the Outlands?”
“Nope. I’m not doing that again.” Simba vowed.
Bakari scoffed. “I give it a

Sonic the Hedgehog looked at Amy Rose with wide eyes. “Amy… are you sure?”
Amy nodded. “Uh-huh… but look on the bright side. I won’t chase you around anymore. I’ll stop butting in your adventures. I’ll have some of my own.”
Sonic nodded. “So, um… if ya don’t mind my asking… how did you find out?”
Amy sighed. “Me and Rouge were teamed up to infiltrate one of Eggman’s bases and we got pinned down. We had no idea where the hell you were. Things looked bleak. I asked Rouge if she had any regrets. She said, “Just one.” before she… kissed me,” she blushed. “And it… awoke something in me.”
Sonic nodded. “Gotcha. So… are you and Rouge…?”
Amy laughed. “That floozie? God, no! I have some standards! Besides, she was only disracting me to swipe the Chaos Emerald I had on me.” She looked out at Green Hill Zone as the sun began to set. “I guess I’m just… waiting to see if Ms. Right is out there, you know?”
Sonic smiled. “Right on, girl. Don’t worry, I won’t tell anyone. It’s your story.

Inside Out 2: New
(Slight spoilers for Inside Out 2)
Grace Hsieh and Bree Young smiled as Grace sent the photo of the two of them to their best friend, Riley Andersen, wishing her luck with being accepted onto the Fire Hawks.
Bree smiled. “I miss her already.”
Grace nodded. “Yeah, me too. But, hey, we’re going over to her place this weekend. So we have that to look forward to.”
Bree put her arm around Grace’s shoulder. “In the meantime, let’s try and get used to our new school. Gateway High, here we come!”
The girls looked at their schedules, noticing that they had the same homeroom class, and beamed. Things were looking up. They made their way to their classroom and found seats beside each other. The bell soon rang and the rest of the class filed in. At the back of the pack was a tall, broad-shouldered girl with fiery red hair and green eyes. Her skin was pale and she had a splash of freckles across her nose. She looked nervous. Her eyes were shifting around the room, her hands dug deep into her

Morning in Overwatch
As the alarm clock screeched for Noah Nihil, call sign Druid to wake up at exactly 0500, the Irishman debated donning one of his gauntlets and smashing the damn thing. But then Winston would probably go ape shit (no pun intended). Noah slowly rose, stretched, muttered in his native Irish, then placed his feet on the floor and shuffled to his bathroom, discarding his pajamas and tossing them on his bed as he did so. When he opened the door to the small bathroom, he yelped.“Mornin’, luv. I see you’ve been workin’ out.” Lena Oxton, call sign Tracer stood in the bathroom, brushing her teeth. She was wearing only a bright yellow tank top, Union...

Heaven on Earth
His name was Noah Servulus Roan. His blonde hair was long and it shimmered when the sun hit it, and his eyes were the most calming green anyone had ever seen. Plenty of girls felt attracted to him, rom the pompous popular Annabeth Scott to shy, soft-spoken intellectual Jeanette Miller. There was certainly a lot to like about Noah besides his appearance. He was polite, he was a model student, and he would gladly converse with anyone who came up to him. He was also a devout Catholic, something that Jeanette really admired. She was the only other practicing Catholic in the school, so it felt good to have a like-minded peer. But for all his per...

One Thing to Say
Ryan McClain, star Quarterback of Einstein High’s Varsity Football team, as well as the President of the school’s Gay/Straight Alliance club, strolled out of the Boy’s Locker room, whistling. Turning towards the East Wing, towards the exit of the school, he saw Noah Roan slumped against a locker, looking the saddest Ryan had ever seen him. Feeling bad for his friend, Ryan walked over and sat next to him. “Hey, Noah. What’s the matter?”Noah was looking down at his lap. He was silent for a few heartbeats, but then sighed. “I miss her, Ryan. I never got t’ tell her how I really feel about her.”Ryan nodded in understanding. “I see. Yeah, it su...

GF: The First Time
It was another day at the Mystery Shack in Gravity Falls, Oregon. Dipper Pines and his twin sister, Mabel awoke and went down to the gift shop to chat with their friend, Wendy. As they did so, the door opened and the bell rang. Mabel’s eyes looked up first and when they did, she let out a small squeak.A boy, about a year older than her stood at the entrance. He was tall and slim with short, wavy golden blonde hair and sharp green eyes. He wore a black t-shirt, an emerald green vest, blue shorts, white socks, and green sneakers. The sunlight streamed in behind him, making him seem like, at least in Mabel’s mind, an angel. The boy walked in, c...

Before the Next Avengers
5-Year-old Doreen Green looked around excitedly. Javits Center was decked out in Avengers-related stuff. Ever since the young mutate could remember, she thought the Avengers were the absolute coolest. She bounced up and down excitedly. “What should I do first?”
Doreen’s mother, Maureen smiled and put a hand atop her daughter’s head. “Hold your horses, Doreen. There’s plenty of convention to explore. First, are you hungry?”
Doreen shook her head. “I’m too excited to eat. Besides, I had breakfast.”
“Okay, well, do you need to use the bathroom?”
“Mom!” Doreen complained loudly. Then she spoke in a quieter voice. “I went before we left.”
Maureen looked around. “Oh, look, a jungle gym. Maybe you could burn off some energy.”
Doreen smiled. “That sounds fun!”
“Just remember, no powers and keep your… you know hidden.”
Doreen nodded. Among her many unique abilities, which included super strength, agility, claws, and knuckle spikes, she had also been born with a fluffy prehensile tail.

ToD: Ailments and Cures
It was a grey, rainy day in Dapplewood and poor Abigail was in bed with a cold. Cornelius had come to check on her and assured her it was nothing serious. “Just a run-of-the-mill cold. You’ll be back on your feet in no time, my dear.”
Abigail sniffled and groaned. “I wish I was back on my feet now. I hate being sick and away from all the fun.”
Her father stroked her hair. “I know, pumpkin. But there’s nothing to be done. You’re just going to have to wait this out.”
Outside and under the protection of a large leaf, David, Edgar, and Russel looked through Abigail’s bedroom window sadly.
“I know colds aren’t too serious, but it still really stinks that Abigail’s stuck in bed.” Russel moped.
“Can’t be too fun for poor Abby either.” David sighed.
Edgar twiddled his fingers. “There’s gotta be something we can do.”
“About what, friends?”
The trio turned to see the newest Dapplewood residents, Conor and Mira walking over to them, unprotected from the rain. Conor even had his hood down,

Looney Courting
Noah T. Harrington was a Junior at Acme State U. He was here on a basketball scholarship, but he was no bum in the IQ department either. As he shot free throws in the gym one afternoon, he heard someone walking up behind him. Turning around as he sank another free throw, he saw a female bunny with creamy blonde fur, an athletic build, and a basketball twirling on her finger. “You’re good. Care for a little competition?”“I know you. You’re in my Physics class.” Noah smiled. “I’ll take you up. First to 5 wins?”The girl nodded. “Loser buys lunch.“You’re on. My name’s Noah, by the way. X-Men: Sparks
It was a stormy night in Westchester, New York. Katherine “Kitty” Pryde, codename Shadowcat, was getting ready for bed. As she exited the lavatory and headed to her room, a flash of lightning turned her attention to one of the large windows. Outside in the storm, she noticed a figure standing on the front lawn.
“Who the heck would be outside in a storm like this?” The young mutant moved closer, trying to see the figure better. Suddenly, a bolt of lightning sliced through the air and struck the figure!
Kitty muffled her scream behind her hand. “Oh my God!”
“Calm yourself, Kitty.” The voice of Professor Charles Xavier spoke gently in her mind. “Jacob is unharmed. As a matter of fact, one could say he’s… charged up.”
“Jacob, Professor?” Kitty asked.
In her mind’s eye, she suddenly could see a tall, well-built youth with short blonde hair and bright blue eyes. “Jacob Malcom, codename Thunderstruck. He can absorb and redirect any electric charge.” Professor Xavier explained.

First Night
New York at night. From a certain vantage point, beautiful. In Central Park, it’s romantic. But in some of the surrounding neighborhoods, it can be rough. But this wasn’t on young John Keel’s mind as he walked home from the comic store. The 9-year-old superhero enthusiast had two mint condition comics in his backpack. He had saved up a month’s worth of dog-walking money to buy them and he couldn’t be happier.Suddenly, as John walked past the ally separating Vinny’s Pizza and the Taxidermists’, a hand reached out and grabbed his arm. Another hand pressed a gun to his back.“Your money or your life, squirt.” A voice growled.John froze, but o...

Calls
Noah Roan sat on his bed after another day of college classes, looking at his phone. Ever since he had discovered Annabeth Scott cheating on him and he moved in with his childhood best friend, Jeanette Miller, he had been urged by Jeanette to call the rest of their childhood group of friends and reconnect with them. It wasn’t that Noah didn’t want to. He did. He missed them. He missed playing basketball, baseball, and football with Alvin, he missed talking history with Simon, he missed baking with Theodore, he really missed talking about comics with Austin, and he especially missed goofing around with David
And yet, though Noah would never admit this, he was afraid his friends would tell him “I told you so.” They had known that Annabeth was no good. But Noah had been too in love… or too ignorant to heed their warnings until it was too late.
Noah sighed. “You’re a Celt. Pull yourself together.” Almost on impulse, he went to his contacts and dialed the first one on his list: Alvin. To
