:Love Like You:

"He's a good man, Garnet. Told you that before, and maybe this makes me sound like a broken record, but I'm glad you two found each other."

Bramble was taking a stroll with his son, both were bundled up in winter coats as they walked further into town. Snow was gently falling from the cloudy sky, and the weather didn't seem to bother the hedgehogs in the slightest.

Garnet cracked a small smile at his dad's words. "Yeah, Naue's wonderful." He couldn't believe how lucky he was. He never had the best luck when it came to romance, but when the shark entered his life it was like everything fell right into place. Was it fate? He wasn't sure.

"Aw, you're blushing..."

"DAD..."

"What? It's adorable! You really love him, huh?" Bramble nudged Garnet's shoulder lightly, which made the lavender hedgehog's blush deepen. "Which reminds me. Just when are you two going to tie the knot?"

Garnet nearly choked on air as he paused, his eyes widening a little in surprise. He blinked a few times before shaking his head, his muzzle turning even redder. "/DAD/... just. Stop! PLEASE."

Bramble chuckled softly.

"Aw, Gar. C'mon. Don't tell me you haven't thought about it. Besides! I already consider him to be my son-in-law."

"Yeah, I KNOW. You even call him that every single TIME he comes over to our house."

The taller hedgehog's eyes gleamed mischievously and he started to grin. "And? Naue never seems to MIND that I do! What if he's planning on proposing?"

"What...? When?"

"SOON! Imagine you two going out on a walk like tonight. Peaceful, quiet. He pops the question as it's snowing."

Garnet pulled his scarf up over and around his mouth before letting out a soft groan. His blushing face heated up again and he huffed, hearing his father letting out another amused chuckle.

"I... I've thought about it. I even thought about proposing, but... then I realized I want HIM doing it. And if or WHENever he does, of course my answer is going to be yes." Garnet slowly pulled the scarf back down, his voice oddly quiet. When he noticed the look Bramble was giving him, he grumbled and gently bumped his arm.

"Why are you staring at me that way?"

Bramble shrugged his shoulders and smiled again. "It's just... nice seeing you so happy and in love. Romance doesn't come for everyone, but I'm glad it did for you. You just seemed so miserable for the longest time before Naue."

Garnet's eyes softened at his dad's words.

"...that's because I was. And I didn't think I'd ever find love again. He's been nothing but supportive, and I swear, he has the patience of a saint... at least for ME." He swallowed hard, his voice filled with emotion. "He managed to break down my walls and see the real me. He made me believe in love again, and I can't wait to be his husband someday."
