Something I thought up many years ago and use as one of my tag lines, or quotes. Realizing this very idea - from doing some very small things that I was doubtful of early in my art career. Then, seeing that sometimes, it's the small things we try, or do in life that becomes the greatest, biggest things in life... Never say never! You never know!

BIOGRAPHY

Biography

Born an artist with a lifelong curiosity for nature. His signature trait of capturing movement and detail is from his intense love of each species. Each sculpture is in hot cast bronze, using the ancient method of casting with lost wax. Making heavy stationary objects appear 'light as air' is another of his stand out traits. In 1984, Kirk embarked on a nine-year apprenticeship at the Monterey Sculpture Centre. Perfected his bronze technique based on experience and creation. Kirk McGuire is an accomplished sculptor. The elegance of his bronze work is prominent in all his creations, each a true piece of fine art in a limited edition. Over the course of his 37 year sculpting career, more than 1,500 unique bronze sculptures have been collected or exhibited around the world. Sold all over the world to the finest art galleries and collectors. Various magazine and Television articles, also commissioned by the Malaysian princess from Johor Bahru. Most recently, Kirk's 'Legend' table was Triton Submarines' centerpiece at the 2016 Explorers Club, 112th Annual Dinner at the Waldorf Astoria in New York. Triton Submarines LLC has become one of his latest collectors. For the first time in history, Triton filmed a giant squid from one of its submarines, as seen in Discovery Channel's feature Curiosity. Since acquiring one of Kirk's giant squid tables, Triton has traveled the globe using Kirk's 'Legend' table at exhibitions at venues like the Monaco Yacht Show. Kirk's giant squid table 'Legend' was presented with Triton at the VIP Blue Ocean Film Festivals 2016 gala and at the premiering of 'Before The Flood'. After some travels around the world, Kirk settled down in Tiburon, CA. in which he creates a whole new collection of bronze sculptures and functional bronze tables. All his works are created in limited editions or in the form of unique commissions. While Kirk’s work has been sold almost exclusively through galleries in the past, he’s now offering his work directly to his collectors from this website, Etsy.com, or various other online venues abroad. Kirk continues to fulfill orders worldwide for his existing line and commissioned work.

“I have always been obsessed with our oceans and the diversity of wildlife. It is my inspiration! One of the things that I find fascinating is the unusual, unique species. I am also inspired by the bronze age of man. I sculpt in such a way as to emphasize equilibrium, harmony, movement, and rhythm, giving my creations an 'organic' feeling. With my sculpture, I hope to raise awareness about the land and sea around us and the animals that live here. I try to capture the ethereal beauty of sea life. I love living on the ocean's edge and hope that creating my work will help bring a little bit of the outside inside. Every living thing has beauty and I try to show this.
