If there's one thing I can't stand is you get these narrow minded idiots saying stuff like "Oh, only losers write fan fiction!" and mostly, "You're not a real writer if you borrow someone else's characters and put them into your stories!" I'd say just ignore them because they're arrogant. If you write both fanfics and original literature, then that's good - you have a gift for imagination!
