I'm a semi-realistic digital artist, specializing in portraits.
My name is Bonnie-Anne Edwards, and I've had a love of art from a very young age. I was surrounded by creative people, but it was my grandmother who really encouraged creativity in me. I spent the first 19 years of my life, filling scrap book after scrap book with sketches and drawings. Then I was introduced to the graphics tablet and I've never looked back.
In 2008, I started a deviantart page (bonnie-anne.deviantart.com/) and began to showcase my sketches and drawings. Nothing too flash or interesting, but enough to re-spark my interest in art.
In 2009, I began working by commission on art pieces for friends through the Graphics Arts Services and Requests (GASR) forum on www.imvu.com which has since shut down. As my experience grew and I learned new techniques I started to gather quite a fan base on imvu and deviantart and began to specialize in digital portraits.
In early 2010 I purchased my first and only tablet to date, a wacom bamboo pen and touch. Its old and basic at this point, but it has always done the trick.
In 2012 after three long years in the forum, GASR was closed and the art community found its way to a site of our own (www.gasrforum.com). I've worked sporadically in GASR since then, but the move was a wake up call for me and I began to try and branch out more. Spending more time on my pieces, and trying to get my standard of art up to a more professional level.
I've since spent a lot more time taking commissions through my personal facebook, and deviantart accounts, which has led me to this point. I wish to try and make some sort of career out of this path I have chosen. I thoroughly enjoy doing this kind of work.
Outside of the art world I am a full time mechanical engineering student with the University of South Australia (by correspondence), with a educational goal of a PhD in either/both biomedical and mechatronic engineering.
If you have any questions about my work or my life in general please do not hesitate to ask either here, on my facebook page www.facebook.com/BonnieAnneDig... or hit me up with an email at bae.digitalart.commissions@gmail.com.
