In november 2021, British MP Nick Fletcher pointed out that there is a link between male criminality rise and the emergence of many fictional heroine, giving as an example the 13th incarnation of Doctor Who. The politician had indeed stated that the change of sex of a character as emblematic as Doctor Who was not without impact for its male fans. They are indeed deprived of a model they can identify with. I don't think that men are so stupid as to necessarily need a role model of their own sex to evolve in life.
