so quick recap

• I've decided I'm bi-romantic demisexual
• over the past few months I've gotten into Ever After High, Monster High, and IDW's run of TMNT and Transformers
• I'm currently working on a crossover fic on ao3 and my tumblr
• I'm taking a semester of school off 
• I got a volunteer job at my local library
• am constantly worried I will be killed by the police for simple existing
• tired and anxious but alive for now.

Representation = validation, visibility, and identification. People who believe that it is not needed, that changes the skin color of a fictional character or assigning a previously white role to a non-white character are for "shock value" are clearly represented extremely in media. They don't understand what it's like to not see themselves in the proverbial mirror that is media. 

I'm so upset that one of my favorite artists for years hate the idea that I can be a hero, that characters that look like me are nothing more than cheap ploys for attention and don't REALLY matter to men, women, and children like me. It's really heartbreaking to find out that my opinion, my reflection is just a gimmick to them.

Legend of Korra had Korra take Asami on a vacation alone after a heartfelt talk and witnessing a wedding, they entered the spirit portal while holding hands and reflected the newly weds AND Kataang's positions and that was it.

it was over. Korrasami happened. two qwoc ended up together as much as they can on a children's network. 

by the way. just thought everyone should know. At least my two most important ships happened.
