Major Phonte

CT-3324, named Phonte, is the head commanding officer of the 146th Expeditionary Combat Detachment. He's pictured here holding a lit flare to signal for extraction via LAAT after his unit performed a successful strike mission against a separatist outpost located deep within a mountain range on Cato Neimoidia. His armour configuration features a chest rig system mounting two magazine pockets in addition to a first aid kit, as well as a three-day survival backpack, ice pick, and climbing harness. He is armed with a modified DC-15A blaster rifle outfitted with a collapsible stock and grappling-launcher that could be used to scale sharp inclines. Members of the 146th were admired among their fellow troopers for being chosen to fight in some of the most extreme environments out of any Republic unit, in which the possibility of a slow and painful death could arise at any moment, regardless of enemy involvement. Phonte was selected to lead this particular detachment thanks to his resilient personality and careful coordination of each of his men, taking full accountability for the welfare of all under his command.
