While trying to learn the name of a show from my childhood, I wound up rediscovering another. I knew it then as "Peter and His Toy Box" but did not realize that its English was dubbed. Known as Löwenzahn in its native Germany, it's been running for over 40 years, an impressive feat with original host Peter Lustig bowing out in 2006 for health concerns well before his passing 10 years later. In this kids show, engineer-turned-actor Lustig presented a variety of topics relating to nature and technology. I remember an episode focusing on the material rubber, featuring a rubber tree and a song that my memory hasn't fully deleted... "Rubber, rubber, rubber, "Rubber is fantastic "Rubber, rubber, rubber "Rubber is elastic" There was an episode about volcanic geology that was capped off with Peter cooking on a naturally-heated rock. And there was also this 1988 episode where Peter attempted to build a bridge while educating his audience on the different types. It was a blast of nostalgia

People should turn in their firearms and other weapons so that their safety will rightly be in the kind, caring hands of progressives, politicians, and bureaucrats.

It's been some time since the TNT network was going through its "We Know Drama" rebranding. Well before that, however, was my favorite incarnation of TNT as a source for cult and variety entertainment. A sentiment from over 30 years ago, wishing you all a happy new year.
