Devlog 1 for Powered by Monsters

I’m working on a little monster collection game in my free time for fun. I’m primarily an artist, which might be obvious from the images I included, but I also think I finally progressed far enough in my understanding of coding and other game design elements where I can reasonably try to include some more complex game mechanics.
The game would consist of three main parts:
1 Various caves and underground areas where a large variety of monsters can be found and captured. These monsters can then be used in various ways depending on the type: some can be weaponized, others can be used to improve weapons, to be used as crafting materials or simply as fuel, to be sold for currency etc.
2 Bosses throwing waves of monsters at you to battle. Winning these challenges can unlock further monsters, grant skill points, unlock further areas of the game and also unlock a higher tier challenge for the same boss.
3 A hub area that has access to the caves, the bosses, some NPCs and also just look

In this game you will be playing a role of a fool, I'm sorry, a volunteer who signed up to participate in the tests going on in the Human Upgrade Labs in the far future Earth. You heard rumors that anyone who manages to pass the various tests designed to improve you in every conceivable way will have new and amazing possibilities unlocked in life. That, or be completely broken mentally. The tests you take will essentially be various mini games, over 30 of them, placed into several different categories, using multiple, sometimes experimental visual styles and combined into a single story.
Human Upgrade Labs was released on Itch a couple of months ago, and a substantial free demo is available there as well. The difference is that Steam version has achievements and cloud saves. Give it a try:
