Oh wow that sucks! I remember dealing with a blizzard in 1993, and another one in 1996, the 93 one was my 3rd grade year, I was out of school for almost 2 weeks, which I enjoyed at the time, but the backlash of it was having to make those days up at the end of the year, lol, I was in school until like June 25th, ugh 
The 1996 blizzard wasn't as bad as that one but it still extended my school year a bit, that was 5th grade.. The only other bad winter storm from my school years I can recall was in winter 2001, when I was in 10th grade, what started as rain quickly turned to snow and ice, there were a lot of bus delays and it took me a while to get home, and then when I finally did my power was out, lol, but it came back on eventually.. Luckily I was actually able to GET home, some school districts around my area had to keep their students overnight!
