Description
Woo. finally, it's finished. ...I think (looks around image again to see if I forgot anything). (oh! I did forget something I wanted to do. Didn't remember until I was about to click submit. There, I added a little mickey.)
It's supposed to be Mozenrath from Aladdin as Anakin/Vader from Star Wars.
So, this is for 's Parody Posters contest. It was inspired by my brother having told me that an Anakin pic of mine looked like Mozenrath ( :/ ). But the two are a little alike. As my brother noticed, they both have curly hair parted on their right side, but they also are both missing a right arm (both due to doing something stupid), wear gauntlets over their right arms, are tall, don't have the best role-model/father-figure, get emotional and do stupid stuff, and are one of the main villains in the episodes.
Poster it's based on: www.bosahomepage.altervista.or… (I just found it through Bing images)
other refs: www.starwars-universe.com/imag… (also through Bing images), a screenshot I'd previously taken of Mozenrath (for his face - though I reffed the poster for the shadows and pose), two or three images of Anakin's Sith eyes (because I wanted Sith eyes), a few screenshots found on Bing of Vader (for the modifications to the cape), a few images found of Anakin holding his lightsaber and one of the lightsaber by itself, sand dune images from Bing (for the dunes, but mainly just looked at to get the feel), a few photos of myself looking over my shoulder while brandishing a broom handle (for his hand), and a few photos of my right arm in my smaller leather jacket's sleeve with two little belts wrapped around it (for the gauntlet - couldn't find the leather glove I thought was lying around somewhere, so I had to guess at the fingers). The two links and the photos of myself were pretty much direct refs, the rest not so much.
Technical details:
This is a modification of version 1 (which I think I'll avoid linking to just in case it messes with my chances in the contest), and that version was started after the contest was announced, and was drawn by hand besides the text "Episode III" (and the stroked trim on the black bordering, blur filters, and the like). So it's perfectly within the rules.
For this version, I expanded the shading/coloring around the edges so I could zoom the image out a bit (which wasn't all that hard, but I kept feeling it would be, so that's why it took so long to do it), modified the Vader cape because I didn't really like how it looked in the poster, added more detail on his outfit with the help of the anakin_ep3 image I'd found, added his gauntlet (and lightsaber hilt) because I'd wanted to do a poster where the gauntlet's visible (the idea was for the two belts to have normal square belt buckles, but I decided they wouldn't be visible here), redid the lightsaber glow (more than once) - it should look a little more natural now than it did in the poster, changed the colors on his outfit and lightsaber to mix it with Mozenrath's outfit/colors, and made the background a bit cooler to better match the new foreground colors and added some stars and sand dunes. Oh, I also tried to make a D for the title (the N was just modified from the R and W).
The other stuff's from the first version, including the logo (besides the Episode III, which was just Times New Roman font with a few adjustments) and the Sith eyes.
Idea:
The first version had the idea of Mozenrath playing Anakin (aka, pasting Mozenrath's head on his body), but this version is more of an alternate reality that combines the two worlds. It will have a little more to do with sand than Star Wars did, but a little more to do with... space, than Aladdin did. The outfit's leather with gold trim and blue shirt are reminiscent of both characters' outfits, and the brown leather gauntlet's closer to Mozenrath's design (it basically is Mozenrath's but with two added belts). The lightsaber's hilt is Anakin's, but the black-blue-red hue is Mozenrath's.
In this reality, Mozenrath!Vader probably wants to take over the seven[ty] desert planets. Except for Tatooine. He hates Tatooine.
I would've tried copying a more complex poster, but Jasmine had immediately come to mind when I thought of Padme and Leia, and she was kind of in most posters. If I'd done a poster that had Sidious in it, he would've been Destane, though. Wasn't really sure about Obi-Wan, but I thought it would be amusing if Aladdin played him just for the 'you were my brother' quote.

I don't think I'll ever understand why some SW fans think that Kylo Ren reminds them of Aladdin. I honestly don't see it that way at all. When I first saw this Kylo Ren character, he reminded me of a younger version of Severus Snape in the Harry Potter series. If Kylo grew a beard, then he would remind me of another version of Jon Snow in the GOT series. But after I've been watching the Aladdin TV series on the Internet, I've come to see that this Mozenrath now reminds me of a Disney cartoon version of Kylo Ren.
