Description
It appears someone wished for Germany to get its shape from the Imperial Era back... but that wish was made upon a monkey's paw. Though this map is largely just me having fun, I did write down some actual lore for this:
Amidst the chaos following the end of the Mediterranean Wars, out rose the Kingdom of Germania, unifying the Princedom on the Rhine and Westphalia. Although it lays claim to the title as rightful head of the Germanic peoples, Germania's attempts to expand further have been stymied and obstructed from nearly all directions.
From its East and West, two powerful Empires stand firm as a tight phalanx against Germanian expansion. The highly disciplined French Empire, fresh off of its victorious military campaigns in the Italian Peninsula and North Africa, flanks Germania to the West, while the Polish Empire, with its feared cavalry, sits to the East.
To the North lies a trio of nascent naval and financial powerhouses, Frisia, Hanover, and Mecklenberg. The latter of these states has been the most outwardly hostile to Germania, with ambitions to seize it's eastern frontier of Brandenburg.
The Austro-Italian Empire has served, for most of Germania's history, its key ally on the continent. Wary of growing French dominance in Italy following the Mediterranean War, Austro-Italia has now soured on its former ally. In the eyes of Austrian policy-makers, with the destruction of the Sicilian Sultanate, there's no need to be amicable with the French anymore. They can only hope Germania's growing military power can help shift France's geopolitical attention back north once more.
