“On The Beach” In her car she awaited her last breath As her captain saluted, sailing away And only myself and the rabbit Were witness to that last day I could not imagine, way back then How this time of life would feel And that waiting in silence nothing to do Is a feeling all too real I want to scream to heaven and earth I don’t want to go, let me keep My vigor, my dreams, my soul energies But my body and mind cry for sleep. Disjointed, at last, disappointed and past How much more of this wear will I take? In the end as I lay, hours wasted away Not living my life a mistake
