I peeled back an eyelid to wearily observe the faint glow of red. I felt my small body curled tight against a larger mass. It was warm. It was comforting. I felt as if something was different, or strange, but this feeling was faint, and faded as I blinked. It came slowly, but my mind eventually began to recognize what I was sensing.
