Ranks of the Romulus-Earth Star Commonwealth

This picture explores an alternate Star Trek timeline where Romulans are the race to make the first contact with Humans instead of the Vulcans. Earth, still recovering after World War Three, fall under the Romulan protectorate and eventually the two planets form an Austro-Hungarian-style dual state. This timeline is much less utopian than the original one, as the United Federation of Planets is never formed. After the reunification with Vulcan and the reintegration of Vulcans into the Romulan society, the Alpha Quadrant ends up split between the Romulus-Earth Star Commonwealth, Klingon-Andorian Alliance and the Cardassian Order. The Commonwealth is a flawed democracy, whilst both the Alliance and the Order are ruled by military juntas. The Cardassians still keep Bajor under their occupation. Relations between the three powers are rather cool but do not escalate into open warfare.
