I'm so utterly confused... (Before I start, I do have fun with my characters and will continue working with them regardless.) My OCs have had some fantastic compliments, got help from others, and people have picked them out of a crowd to do a free request. From what little I've received over the years, they are apparently well-designed characters, and I have drawn them well. Despite all my periods of self-doubt in the past, I've always returned to them and maintain my own interest. Confusion is, were is everyone else's interest? I've gone through this before and understand the part about having fun for yourself and not worrying about "what others think". That, however, leads to a few more problems. What if it was you job to? Sure, I'm not doing my OCs for the purpose of making money, like selling books or merchandise. For example, running a business. This is an idea I've had for many years, but never knew how to go about it or if it is even worth doing. I'm talking about crossovers. More specifically, working with other artists and their own characters. The idea is to have my OCs work with their OCs. Anywhere from a single image to an entire story.The problem? Why? While many people do like crossovers, lots also prefer to imagine or make stories of their OCs doing it on their own, rather than help from other's. At least, that's how it feels. Seems more people are interested in the Smash Bros/Death Battle/etc. types of crossovers. While fighting each other's OCs could be possible, I'd remain cautious (narcissists going on a power trip with their OCs, like a child constantly changing the rules in imaginary RP for a vain attempt to always win). This also goes against the team's values - they aren't doing this ONLY for fighting, but also to help in a variety of other ways too. Like going on an adventure together or helping with a
