Overall Vision
Originality Technique ImpactThis manip is very touching for me. There is a poor girl sitting alone and crying in a forest with nothing to wear but some white rags (the rest of her wedding dress?). Her only companion is a white dove bound to her by a chain.
The most impressive part for me is the mood that comes while looking at this picture. It has strong emotions in it: You can feel the sadness and the pain of the girl - her despair is nearly tangible. On the other hand the grey and brown colours are very calming and the rays of light give some hope to the scenery. The blur of the background underlines this smoothing effect. The whole compositon fits very well together. The colours match perfect: nothing is to bright or outstanding and light and shadows are "in their right position" (sorry, I don't know how to describe it otherwise).
There are only two really small things that disturbe me a little:
The first one is the chain the dove is bound to. I don't know why but it looks a little strange to me - like the chain would end anywhere on her side but not on the hand holding it.
The second one is the trunk and the white rag. I think it's a little bit to sharp. The rest - also the model is so smooth that it's a little to outstanding to me. Not much - just really a little bit.
But these are really small this and all in all it's a beautyful and really stunning work.
