Thank you for visiting my page!
Thanks for all the faves!
Just reorganising my faves but you're welcome regardless
I had a story idea set in the future about an area where the sentient aircraft have all seemingly gone feral. To the point predatory military models attack and eat smaller planes and animals. Whatever they can get. The story follows a young S-3 Viking named Nelson or Nels for short, and his human friend Jessie, or Jess. They’re from Anchorage, Alaska and are like brothers after all they’ve been through. A devastating war tore Alaska apart and left its inhabitants isolated for years. Bombings and land invasions. Nels and Jess survived it all together. Weary and starving they made it through. Now years later they’re tasked with investigating an anomaly around Kamchatka peninsula. Nels has the long range to fly there and back. It’s long believed to be a dead zone and irradiated. Nels and Jess check it out and encounter freak weather which forces them to land in an abandoned airport. They’re cut off and alone, and discover there’s more going on than they previously believed. The aircraft here are feral. Highly intelligent but no different than animals. It’s like Jurassic Park. Full of danger. Feral fighter jets which chase and threaten to eat them. But it turns out these planes didn’t turn feral naturally. They were made to due to an experiment gone wrong.
Ooh, very interesting. I like the idea
I’ve had some developments of the story. Nelson is a two seat J-20 Mighty Dragon. Jessie is a woman. The devastating war in which Alaska was invaded and clobbered into the Stone Age took place 20 years ago. Coincidentally they have the same birthday. Nelson and Jessie themselves are products of the war, ‘children of the enemy.’ They didn’t witness the war, but they grew up after it. They have mixed heritage for the absolute worst reasons. When Anchorage was occupied, not all of its residents had time to flee before coming under occupation. Even worse, people still scowl at them like they’re enemy combatants, despite having no experience with wartime or knowing how terrible it was to be in Alaska at the time. They’re blamed and judged for war crimes and actions they themselves didn’t commit. This made them outcasts. Their fathers were enemies and killed in the war. Their mothers wanted nothing to do with them. As outcasts they fell together like brother and sister. As they grew older, they saw each other as lovers. They weren’t interested in the opposite sex of their own kinds. Nelson and Jessie fly together, and are very street smart. Excellent at tracking and using their heads. At the end of it all they’re just kids. 19 years old with few allies or friends.
Hello again!!
Oh! Hello!
