Combustion technical centre
In the combustion technical centre, the DBFZ conducts experimental research on thermo-chemical conversion of raw or pre-conditioned biomass. In addition, analyses of exhaust gas emissions and particulate formation processes are possible. The combustion lab is equipped with a full-fow dilution tunnel test bed, a precipitator test facility with variable volumetric fow, a wood stove test bench, three different catalytic converter development reactors, 15 exhaust analyzers (including FTIR, SMPS, exposition chamber), seven dust measurement devices and six boiler units in various experimental setups. In addition, with the use of an apparatus for physio- and chemisorption, solid-state characterization of biomasses and minerals as well as adsorbents and catalysts are performed.
