What is Wi-Fi Calling?

Wi-Fi Calling is a mobile service which enables Cytamobile-Vodafone’s customers to perform calls via a local Wi-Fi network, when there is limited access to a 4G/5G mobile network.

The service is provided through a combination of VoWiFi (Voice over Wi-Fi) technology and VoLTE (Voice over LTE).

Wi-Fi calling is available provided one has an active Cytamobile-Vodafone mobile plan and a device supporting VoLTE and Wi-Fi Calling. Also Wi-Fi is also on and connected to a local Wi-Fi network as well as mobile data services.   

Wi-Fi calling is available only for local VoLTE users.

How do I enable Wi-Fi Calling?

Wi-Fi Calling can be enabled under the following provisions:

  • You need to be a Cytamobile-Vodafone’s postpaid customer.
  • You need to own a compatible to VoLTE & Wi-Fi Calling device.
  • Wi-Fi service on your device is ON.
  • Your device is connected to a Wi-Fi network.
  • VoLTE & Wi-Fi Calling service on your device are ON as well as Mobile Data via Cytamobile-Vodafone network.
Can I use Wi-Fi Calling via any Wi-Fi network?

Yes, you can, if there is an internet connection.

Does the way a call is performed change if this is done via Wi-Fi Calling?

You will notice no difference. The experience is exactly the same as the call is seamlessly transferred from a Wi-Fi network to a mobile network.

Is there a charge for Wi-Fi Calling?

No, Wi-Fi Calling is free of charge. However, your call will be charged according to the terms of your mobile plan.

I am a soeasy customer. Is Wi-Fi Calling available for prepaid customers?

At this stage, the service is not available to soeasy customers.

Will a call performed via W-Fi Calling be interrupted if I move away from the Wi-Fi network?

The call will continue via VoLTE provided there is mobile network coverage The same applies in the opposite case and that is from VoLTE to Wi-Fi.

Can I use Wi-Fi Calling when abroad?

Wi-Fi Calling is available only for local use.

Is calling to emergency numbers possible?

Calling to emergency numbers, such as 112 is possible.

Can I set call barrings?

Yes, call barring works normally. To set new barring or alter existing ones visit Cyta or call Cyta Customer Service Center.

How do I deactivate Wi-Fi Calling?

You can deactivate Wi-Fi Calling through settings on your device.

Does Wi-Fi Calling work with One Number?

Yes, Wi-Fi Calling works with One Number.
