Revised May 17th, 2024
General Device Unlock Requirements
If you have a Cricket phone, it may have been programmed with a lock that prevents it from operating with other compatible wireless networks. Cricket will unlock your device upon request, if you have met the following unlocking requirements:
- The device you want to unlock has been active for at least six months of paid service on that device.
- The device is designed for use on and is locked to Cricket's network.
- The device has not been reported lost or stolen.
- The device is not associated with a fraudulent account.
If you're an active Cricket customer and believe you meet the eligibility requirements listed above, follow these steps to unlock your device.
Deployed Military Personnel
Consistent with this Device Unlock Policy, Cricket will unlock one (1) device for active and deployed military personnel who are unable to meet the six (6) month service requirement, provided that all other unlock requirements are met and Cricket is provided with acceptable deployment verification. To request an exception due to overseas deployment, please call or chat with a Cricket Support Advocate or visit your local Cricket Store.
Important Note
Cricket reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to deny any unlock request that it concludes may result in abuse of this policy or assist in any way in an effort to perpetrate fraud or any other unlawful conduct against Cricket or its customers. Cricket further reserves the right to change this unlocking policy at its discretion without advance notice.
