There are battles involving all kinds of characters and weaponry, falls, explosions, stabbings, strangulations, fires and flames, ice and waves, giant monsters and robots, high-speed crashes, radiation, electric shocks, cannonballs, guns, and more. Characters sacrifice themselves to save others. Some human bystanders are affected, like pedestrians on a city street that witness a subway crash then are surrounded by a circle of fire to restrain them (the perpetrator warns: "Let go or the humans perish and so do your friends!"), people in cars on a bridge in Hong Kong that collapses, a school bus full of high schoolers that barely escapes unscathed. "We're all going to die," one character frets, and indeed several do. Evildoers have scary voices and glowing eyes. They have a plan to destroy humankind in order to save the planet earth.

Characters kiss and express love for each other. A man gets pregnant by his alien girlfriend, which is played for a lot of pregnancy-related humor (pickles and ice cream, rampant emotions). The birth scene involves a neon blue liquid spurting out of him (from where we aren't shown or told, but he appears to be lying down with his legs spread apart before the liquid is seen).

Teamwork is more important and effective than individual achievements. It's essential to recognize one's limitations. Fear is a precursor to valor. Sometimes the best thing to do is nothing at all. Humans must respect nature and the planet. Believe in yourself.

Jim finds strength and courage within, even when he's stripped of his amulet and armor. He and his mates realize the importance and value of working in a team. Other characters selflessly put their own lives in jeopardy to save each other or humankind and the earth as a whole. Marriage and love between species (humans, trolls, aliens) is seen as natural.

Parents need to know that Trollhunters: Rise of the Titans is the action-packed finale to creator Guillermo del Toro's popular CGI animated fantasy-adventure series. Younger viewers could be upset by the movie's violence -- including the apparent deaths of several beloved characters -- and the theme of destroying humankind in order to save the Earth. The violence is animated and cartoonish, but it's constant. I’m normally pretty lenient on most tv but this was just downright evil. They made the man get pregnant, sweet little Toby dies, and they basically erase the whole Trollhunters timeline. All the hardship that everyone had to face all those sacrifices for basically nothing. No real moral present besides maybe… errr… feel bad cause your not cool? Then the repetitive “the power was inside me the whooolllle time” plot which I’ve seen a million times. Including, the new modern moral of the story “men can get pregnant too” which makes no sense… hello biology? Also they changed the words of the amulet from “to the honor of Merlin” to “for the good of all” to be more “inclusive” I guess. The movie has no point to it and doesn’t sit well with me I actually feel sick after watching it because it was so awful. Please someone get one of those mind erase things from a Sci-Fi tv series, I need one.
This movie sucked. The shows were great, friendship and monster hunting, I mean, what's not to like? Then Netflix came out with the movie. I watched it almost immediately because I loved the show so I thought the movie would be like it. I have never been so wrong. It follows the events of Wizards, with the whole Tales of Arcadia gang. First off they kill Strickler for no reason. He sacrifices himself when he tries to stop the ice titan, News flash, it doesn't work. Then they kill Nomura and Nari, again for no reason. Then to top it all off, They kill Toby!!!!!!!!!!! Toby, the main character's best friend, and the character we've grown to love dies. Then in the end Toby, no offense to him, becomes the Troll Hunter! I despised this movie. DO NOT WATCH.
What's the Story?
The magic amulet which gave Jim Lake (voiced by Emile Hirsch) powers and protection has been destroyed by the Arcane Order, leaving him vulnerable and uncertain of his abilities, at the start of TROLLHUNTERS: RISE OF THE TITANS. After reuniting with a kidnapped Nari, the evil Order calls forth monstrous titans in a plan to destroy all beings on earth to save the planet. Facing the end of the world, Jim and his habitual gang of humans, good trolls, wizards, and aliens will have to fight the monsters unleashed by the Order's demigods.
This latest installment is made for the series' legion of die-hard fans. Trollhunters: Rise of the Titans brings established characters, storylines, and mythology to a satisfying close while leaving the door cracked open just enough for a possible next chapter. As a finale, the focus here is naturally on action and denouement over character development, but that can leave newbies behind, and those unfamiliar with the series may find this world a bit impenetrable. An early scene where the heroes are interrogated by police helps flesh out some details in a humorous way, but there's a lot to grasp that this scene (and a 3-minute prologue) just can't summarize fully. In sum, it's best to watch the series first in order to really appreciate the tales given closure in this film. But fans will likely be delighted, especially by an intriguing twist at the end.
