About Ana Hanssen

Ana is an award-winning Colombian journalist, writer, and author. Since becoming a mother, she has written about motherhood and conscious parenting for BabyCenter en Español and Motherly. She works as a media specialist at her children's Montessori school in Miami writing and producing Tangerine Minds, a podcast created by children, parents, and teachers. She co-wrote Holocausto en el Silencio, a groundbreaking report on the 1985 invasion of the Colombian Palace of Justice by guerilla forces, which won the National Literature Award for best non-fiction book in Colombia in 2006. Ana also worked as a documentary film researcher for The Siege (La Toma, 2011), Letter to a Shadow (Carta a una Sombra, 2015), and The Smiling Lombana (2018). She has written for publications in Colombia , Argentina, México, and the United States.
