Reddit review

TERRIBLE! If they dont like your opinion it is removed within 60 seconds. Usually comments go way off topic, include vulgar unnecessary language and seems to always follow popular opinion not fact or open discussion.

This is just terrible!

I was using Reddit for many years. Mostly to get in contact to people all over the world. Topics from politics to photography and everything in between. Because of my big activity on Reddit I have earned a lot of karma. One day I got a message from Reddit: My account is permantly suspended. No reason, no hint... nothing. All my contacts, messages and posts... GONE! I tried to contact Reddit but there was no response. So I created a new account and tried to find some of my old contacts. I used a VPN, just in case. Because most subreddits need you to have karma I started to post every day. Nothing was upvoted and I didn't get any replies. Strange... This gave me an idea; create a new account with an other VPN and check it. And what seemed to be the case? All my posts (100+) from the first new account aren't posted! Nobody can see them! What is happening here? When did Reddit became crap? Besides this awfull way of working I also want to point out the minors on Reddit, trying to post and trade other minor stuff. I have seen awful things, even reported them, showing me illegal stuff. These accounts are still active, but mine is removed?

Highly abusive community

There is a great deal of content not suitable for kids. This includes graphic depictions of war and violence and sex work/drug use forums. There are also helpful sub-reddits, including supportive discussions of mental health, trauma, relationships, and discussions of games and activities that kids would enjoy. However, all of the later benefits are questionable based on Reddit admin activity. People are banned from the community for no reason. The admins themselves actively turn a blind eye to abusive behavior, including unsolicited offers of prostitution. Admins respond to these issues by hurling specious allegations of supporting criminal activity, harassing others, and even bring engaged is the criminal exploitation of children. Exposing children to this behavior is obviously quite frustrating. Unless your goal is expose your kids to life being manifestly unfair, it is best to keep them off the platform.

Reddit is a useless platform

Reddit is an utterly disgusting and biased platform. They are not at all transparent people and their moderators are another useless lot. It does not want facts to reach people and good contents and comments are removed while the fake ones are allowed to continue. Overall not a good feeling to express on this platform. If there was a 0 rating, I would give the website 0.

Some things should never be seen. Reddit has every single bit of it! NOT Safe for Anyone That Is Sane

Reddit is saturated with horrifying images pouring out of Ukraine and other nations. Rape, I saw a posting for a video link from a russian soldier molesting an infant in Ukraine, other child molestation images, death, harm to animals. When you speak out against this content, you are attacked by redditors and reported as saying inappropriate things. It is clear why reddit is such low quality. Avoid it as an adult if you want your sanity. Certainly, do not let your children near this site. Multiple sub reddits discuss and encourage drug usage and other illegal activities.

Toxic

The platform encourages bullies, abusers and people who want to spread misinformation. If you try to use the website honestly to discuss your favourite shows or post a cute video of your pet, you get banned (with no reason and no way to appeal unless you want a bot saying we stand by it), and if you misuse it to do something like give 100% inaccurate advice about STDs and the spread of them, the mods allow it. Excellent idea for a website, but it is run by and for toxic people.

A toxic environment

People on the site are abusive as well as the moderators. I questioned a ban on a subreddit and received a obscene responses. I then reported to reddit and they permanently banned me.

I don’t know how so many people have retained accounts on this site.

Reddit has to be the single worst social media platform on the planet. You can be permanently suspended for just about anything at all, and once you do, don’t even try making another account, as that’s against the rules as well. I literally made an alternate account just to post my fan fiction to there, not to interact with anyone at all otherwise, and my account got suspended overnight for no reason whatsoever. In order to maintain the first account, you have to tread a verbal minefield and avoid each individual subreddit’s incredibly arbitrary list of extensive and often extremely vague rules, and never, EVER have an opinion outside of the mindset of the group. Individuality is shunned. Not only that, the people running Reddit are absolutely worthless and will never agree or help you with anything. Reddit is a giant, steaming pile of s--t and it is unfathomable to me how it is still around when it is so unforgivingly obtuse.

If you are a certifiable deviant then reddit is for you

Pretty much anything and everything that is bad about the internet is available on reddit. Case in point: Though now shut down, reddit hosted the largest peodophile sub in the world. Estimated at over 1million daily viewers. Reddit only took it down because mainstream media found out about it and started asking questions.
