Can lead to awkward questions
The quality of the shows is variable, with some interesting to a younger audience while others appeal more exclusively to an adult market. The 'specials' tend to make better family viewing, and while they're primarily focused on humour and jeopardy, they can also be quite informative.
There's a little bit of violence, or threats of violence between the hosts, and moderate swearing throughout, although nothing a 10+ year-old won't have heard before. There is some sexual innuendo and references to things like drug taking, but as with most stuff like this, it will go over the head of a child. The worst thing you're likely to encounter are awkward questions prompted by what's been said.

Definitely not suitable for children or younger teens
There's a lot of sex and violence in GoT. While you could argue it's appropriate for a sixteen or seventeen year old to watch this, it's definitely not suitable for kids. There are just too many highly adult themes here. GoT abounds with drink, drugs, sex, prolonged nudity and extremely graphic acts of violence. The story is gripping and the characters and world are well drawn, but there are very few positive moral messages to be found.

A Classic
Like a lot of 80s movies this isn't nearly as gory or violent as it's rating might suggest. Yes there's a lot of shooting, guns, explosions and death in this, but there are only a couple of genuine "gore" scenes; once when the helicopter crew are skinned and hung in the tree, and the other when Jesse Ventura is exploded by the protagonists death ray.
This should be fine for a 12 year-old with a sensible head on their shoulders.

An enduring classic
This is a classic sci-fi movie and has stood the test of time well. Yes, the CGI is super-basic by the standards of 2020, but the plot and action are still strong.
There's a fair amount of swearing. The f-word is used extensively and in many different variations, but it's not OTT and is proportional to the context.
If you haven't watched it in a while, it's not as violent as you might recall. People do get shot, and stabbed and incinerated, but it's not gory or lingering. There is obviously continual peril for the main characters, but it's dealt with well. During the entire movie there were only a couple of scenes that pushed the boundary of what I felt my 11 year-old should see. Specifically the dream sequence and the knife in the back during the bar fight. The future battle sequences are over quickly and actually quite tame, aside from the skull crushing bits.
The film does contain a surprisingly strong moral message about the value of human life and the importance of not killing the innocent.
It does depend on your child, but a mature ten or eleven year-old won't be troubled by this, although they will express contempt for the CGI.

Confusing for kids
Watched with my 10 and 12 year-old kids. They'd been asking to see it for a while, but it was a bit of an anti-climax when we did.
There's violence here. The lobby shooting scene is quite graphic (with blood) and the navel-entering squid thing is gross, but it's not too graphic.
There's some vague drug references, but nothing too bad, and not much sex. My kids actually felt the contrived love interest between Neo and Trinity was unnecessary and got quite annoyed by it.
The problem we had was more with the story. It was too confusing for my kids, as the plot demands you just go with it for a long time before it becomes clear what's happening. For that reason I would say this is better kept until your kids are a little older, when nuances and complexity won't go over their head or need constant pauses for explanation.
