Some moments of peril but overall lighthearted fun
Pretty typical Thomas movie. Some mild peril with the dynamite threatening to blow up the trains and the bad guy tying escape. Overall a fun watch for a wide range of kids. My 4 year old said she thought pirates were scary but wasn’t phased by the movie

More violence than the original
I wish I’d checked here before playing this for my 6 and 4 year old. Much more violent than the ordinal with cars being killed. Not something my family is into for younger kids

Comedy with some sad scenes
My 7 year old found this pretty funny and my 4 year old enjoyed the characters. I think it’s important to know that there is a scene where the mother of the baby disappears/dies, although it’s very gently handled. There is also a scene where the mammoths family are chased by hunters which my 4 year old found sad.
There are some fighting scenes, which my 4 year old thought were sad
Overall a good family watch but some sadder scenes for sensitive kids
