Great movie night for my 10-year-old and me!
Saw this with my 10-year-old. Great movie! Stayed true to the original with some good unique differences. Good messages, good acting and humor. Definitely more tame than the original with only a couple mild words and a brief innocent kissing scene (think Disney princess movies). Anyway, we loved this movie!

Drive-by gun shooting in this movie too. Wrong message about appropriate anger management. (Main character throws his boss through a wall, etc.) I can't rate the sexual content and language. It's been awhile since I saw it.

e.g. Perfect for older kids, but not for tweens
I did not at all approve of the main character slapping the monkey.

Good family fun for 4 1/2 and up.
Most of the "sexy stuff" went over my 9-year-old's head, at least I think so. The other more gooey love stuff was funny to him. My 4-year-old was not too scared of the dinosaurs, but he is a passionate, fiery, (though sensitive) little guy, especially about dinosaurs. It might be scary for other kiddos his age though.

Not for pre-teens
Way too violent for pre-teens and too much breast/nipple shots. Lots of bad language and American soldiers are portrayed as being ready to kill anyone that gets in their way, even children. Too mature for young teens as well.

Ok, so this is a movie my 9-year-old loved, but...not me. Good historical information, however, I don't approve of the following:
1. Amelia Earhart slapping the main character
2. The monkey slapping scene where the main character slaps the monkies (same as 1st movie)
3. The characters saying "I'm going to kill you", "I'm going to kill your friends", "Kill them!", etc. and also the word "murder".
4. The long overly passionate kiss
5. And words like "stupid", dum-dum to name a couple.
6. The main character stealing the badge after man-handling the security guard.
What is the need to put all this in the movie? It would have been fine without it.

Perfect for 9- or 10-year-olds and up
Although there is some language "P--is breath", dammit, s--t, son of a b--ch, the movie is a classic. It really captures the perspective and feelings of a 10-year-old boy. This an awesome, emotionally and imaginatively engaging movie. The "p--is breath" went right past my son as he said he didn't quite catch what they said. Thank goodness! The drunkeness went past him too.

The "sexy stuff" and violence was what made me NOT want my 10-year-old to see it
Unless you fast-forward it, this movie contains a scene with a woman with a low-cut, tight dress, cleavage and a long slit. She rubs her bare thigh, takes off her fur shawl, lets the shoulder strap fall down and slouches down in the share, talking in a seductive tone with sexy music playing in the background. All this goes on while the man is obviously drooling over her.
An old highly endowed woman states that she sleeps in the nude and the men joke around that they need to put an eye mask on because she walks around (nude) at night. This is a Disney amimated movie?
A robot makes a sexual proposition to a scantily clad woman with lots of cleavage. She punches him. The proposition might go over kids' heads and it is in French and whispered in her her ear, but it may also provoke questions.
Later, this same female looks as though she is going to undress in front of a blue lagoon and turns to stand in a very seductive pose while the guy is awestruck with her body and sex appeal as she takes off her skirt.
There is chain smoking and talk of a need for whisky,
Lot's of threatening with guns and beating up people to pressure them for information. Talk of killing a civilization and it being pleasurably worth double the price.
Felt like I was watching a non-animated R movie for adults. Lots of scenes with people trying to kill people. Lots of beating up. Not a movie for kids. Disney could have done so much more without all the garbage. Aside from all the inappropriate stuff for kids, it was not a good movie anyway.

Not good messages for kids, and also violent, sexist and anti-German
Sexist, Anti-German, way too violent and scary for the 12 and under set. Also, what is up with the lingerie-clad woman walking on the railroad tracks? I recommend Chitty Chitty Bang Bang or the Absent-Minded Professor.

A robot is thrown (in his car) off a cliff while he is seemingly very self-aware. He is screaming. The so-called "mild trash talking" is too much. This is part of the problems with a lot of the kids these days. They watch these kinds of shows that fill up the networks and think it's okay to talk like that in real life. They bring this "attitude" to their peers, parents and school. This seems to happen at a very young age. There is no positive message in this show. It teaches kids to use violence to solve their problems. Kids need a show for 7 and up. I don't know of any except Arthur that teaches kids good lessons about what their experiencing at their age. They need more for kids who have outgrown The Little Einsteins but don't need to see the violent cartoons with little or no messages.
