Both my 6 and 8 year old enjoyed it! So did I.
All of use enjoyed this movie. I don't think its a classic in the making, but was enjoyable by both kids and my wife and I. A slightly better than average Xmas movie for the whole family.

Another Winner!
Just like the first Croods our 6 and 8 year olds loved this movie. Family friendly. While I give it a 5 and above rating, if your kids are especially sensitive to cartoon violence then perhaps you should wait until they are older. My kids have been sensitised to cartoon violence for years so this was nothing new to them. It gets particularly violent towards the end. But, again, this is cartoon violence. But i don't want to make too much of it. For the most part this was a terrific, fun, engaging movie for the ENTIRE family. It's not just a movie the adults have to sit through grinning and bearing it to have a movie night. It was enjoyable for all of us. It's one of the better 2020 movies for the whole family.

Tremendously original and entertaining
This one hit it out of the park. It was entertaining for the ENTIRE family. Our 6 (almost 7) and 8 3/4 year olds both really enjoyed it and so did mom and dad. As a jazz lover there were a few really enjoyable jazz scenes. The movie was original - a rarity these days. A bit slow at the beginning but not too slow for my kids. Yes, the main character falls possibly to his death. It's not clear what happened to him for awhile. I just warned my kids in advance that this would happen and they were fine with that. There was really nothing too sad that would have affected my daughter and there was enough silliness and action to keep them both engaged.
Bottom line: I'd put this almost right up there with, Trolls, 'Sing' and ''Inside Out' for original and engaging movies that are enjoyable for the whole family.

Our 6 and 8 Year Olds Enjoyed it
I don't understand the higher age rating. I thought this movie was quite tame. Our 6 and 8 year old (who have become very picky lately) both enjoyed it and sat attentively through it. I thought it was rather pablumy but, hey, it was a reasonable family movie that the kids enjoyed and mom and dad didn't hate. Pretty good for kids who generally now hate to be torn away from their iPads to watch a movie with the family.

Enjoyable - quite different from original
Well, that was kind of a strange movie. Not what I expected after the first. But my 6 and almost 8 year old were entertained and stuck with it. Production values were top notch. Lots of catchy tunes had my toes tapping the whole way through. But the whole story idea of different musical 'threads' / genres was a bit difficult for the kids to follow (and me too) at first. For example we had no idea what those Techno troll fish were at the beginning or why the scary red trolls were threatening them. But over time we mostly figured out what was going on. I do think the premise was rather lame, but it was implemented well and was an 'OK' sequel to the original. Not great, but OK for a family movie night.

Great Graphics, Poor Story
Well, we got through this one! It's a rare movie by RDJ that I didn't like. The production values are top notch but the story and acting are poor! Our whole family enjoyed the Eddie Murphy movies A LOT! All of us were BORED by this one. My 6 year old daughter stayed attentive but it lost my almost 8 year old boy's attention! I'm not quite sure why we even bothered to finish it since we ALL found it boring. But we did. Avoid this one. Go get the Eddie Murphey ones.

Top Notch. We all loved it.
My (almost) 7 and 8 1/2 year olds really enjoyed it as did mom and dad. Can recommend it to everyone. Really good xmas movie!

Our 6 and 8 Year olds enjoyed it.
Completely CLEAN movie from beginning to end. Definitely NOT an adult movie. But fun enough for the whole family. Lots of slapstick. Nothing preachy, nothing terribly inspirational. Just an average fun, mildly amusing, movie for the whole family.

Fine for the Whole Family
Having just run through all the older Addams Family movies, this was a nice recent addition for our 5 and 7 year olds. They both enjoyed it and mom and dad enjoyed it more than some of the other addams family movies. We think its safe for all ages. Yes its a tad bit violent but if your kids are exposed to even a modicum of violence in kids video games, its no more violent than that. Not a great movie, not a bad movie. Just an OK edition to the family movie night line up for a family with young kids that aren't overly sensitive to addams-family style violence.

Hollywood Pablum pt 3
My review of the original Descendants and Descendants 2 apply to this. Both my kids were in to it (mostly because their school mates suggested it), but its a pretty poor made-for-TV movie. I did appreciate the singing and dancing routines more in the latter two movies than I did in the original. The same predictable themes play over and over in the entire series. Clearly a low budget film as you can tell its all done on green screen. I don't like how they overly sexualized teens. They sexualized their lip-synced singing voices to be sultry and different than their actual voices. Your kids will likely enjoy it. You'll be bored.
