Your Attention Please
Parent and Kid Reviews
What's the Story?
YOUR ATTENTION PLEASE, an absolute celebration of Black culture, centers a variety of creators, artists, and innovators thriving in their fields. Released in companion with Hulu's Black Stories Presents: Initiative 29, episodes document creatives sharing their experiences, expertise, and inspirations. By reiterating the strength of personal narrative to motivate innovation and change, this series of multimedia projects hopes to tell Black stories beyond Black History Month. Shared are interviews and essays from young Black humanities and STEM professionals alongside expressive, glowing animations that amplify their narratives. There are segments where a poet's vocal performance builds over the choreography of movement artists. Also includes short films, music, and more. Craig Robinson hosts.
Is It Any Good?
It's all sorts of inspirational, with numerous collaborations between exceptional, culture-defining artists of the Black diaspora, and only made possible by a formidable amount of talent and labor. Your Attention Please is detailed, full of nuance, and entertaining for the whole family. Innovative -- part variety show, part documentary -- it's a beautiful blooming thing. And the energy is contagious. Young folks watching will come away with more knowledge, a fresh appreciation for Black excellence, and motivated to have thoughtful conversations.
