Wild Kratts: Our Blue and Green World

What's the Story?
In WILD KRATTS: OUR BLUE AND GREEN WORLD, real life brothers Chris and Martin Kratt's animated selves argue over whether the green or blue parts of the Earth are better. They usually work together, but they strike out on their own after their disagreement. It doesn't go as planned- Martin gets swallowed by a whale and Chris gets squeezed by an anaconda. Engineer Aviva (Athena Karkanis) rescues them by programming power discs that give them whale and anaconda power. Meanwhile, the team uncovers a plot by greedy villain Zach and his sidekick Paisley to bulldoze a beautiful rainforest beach and turn it into a building. The Kratt Brothers have to learn to work as a team again to keep Zach and Paisley from harming the animals and their habitat.
Is It Any Good?
The Wild Kratts series is a solid, long-running educational series, but this special doesn't have the same fun as a lot of their other content. Some of the educational parts come off as more of a lecture, and the "green vs. blue" feud feels a bit contrived. Since it's also a longer-than-usual special, kids might find it on the slow side. On the plus side, the brothers' animal powers are delightful. Kids will learn a few awesome trivia facts to amaze their friends, and about the importance of protecting Earth's resources.
Talk to Your Kids About ...
Families can talk about global warming. Do you understand how cutting down forests and polluting harms the Earth? How might it lead to more storms, rising water levels, and more?
Families can talk about things they can do in their regular lives to protect animals and their habitats.
