Good show, kids should watch it.
I’m only rating this 2+ because I want to pull down the rating a little. This is a kids show by my standards. It’s animated, so violence is never that bad, especially when it’s usually played for laughs. Cursing isn’t unusual, but they never say anything that terrible. The few sex jokes will fly over kids heads. I would say 8+ is fine.

You guys are really harsh on the age rating here.
No, this show isn't for ages 12 and up. That's a crazy thing to say. I started watching at 9, and it's a great show. The first 10 seasons beat seasons 11 and up by far, so watch those ones. Yes, the simpsons has some sex jokes, but they aren't even that bad. Your child will barely know what the jokes mean, as it isn't so obvious. The show has some drinking, but honestly, who cares? Homer and his friends like to go to Moes Tavern to get beer and other alcoholic drinks, but it's not that bad, really. The show does have a SMALL, VERY SMALL, amount of violence. You rarely see it in the show. As for swearing, nearly no swearing either! They say Damn, Hell, and Ass, but that's about it. The show DOES have great messages, and some educational value can be seen here, albeit a small amount. But with the great messages, and the great humor coming from the show, I see no problem with a kid 9+ watching... maybe 10+, but it's not that bad.

its awesome for tweens theres mild viloence and mild sex and mild language and modrate drugs and drinking and smokign i put drugs beause i one episode homer somkes marijuanna

some episodes are as bad as South Park
some episodes are violent like South Park level but most episodes for kids. my parents let me watch the simpsons it was absolutely amazing I watched every tv-14 episode and the TV-MA episodes. but I’m just a kid who can handle animated violence hehe. there is also gore so much gore in treehouse of horror bye.

Not sure what to put here
As much as I enjoy watching the show, their marijuana line was not impressive. Having received a sample from one of their representatives, Harry Mussein,on Chase Street Broadalbin NY 12025, I was really disappointed. The packaging is quite comical though. I saved it as memorabilia.

This is a Middle school and up show like ages 14 and up, but not the simpsons guy because it's the simpsons but with family guy so the simpsons guy is inappropriate for ages 18 and up.

I don't understand why some parents will let any child under at least 12 watch this. Yes it's a great show and very funny but I watch this show with my teen sons and there are a lot of suggestive things that are not appropriate for kids. Someone actually put 8+? It is appropriately rated at tv 14. Why you would show an 8 year old a cartoon that has toxic drinking smoking and sex is beyond me. Yes, it's better than Family Guy but so what. Be responsible parents, jeez.
