No thanks

Nope. Just nope. Unlike some of my fellow hardcore Tolkien fans, I decided to give the show a chance, bottom line, I did not enjoy the clear modernization of the professor's work. Over all, from a entertainment viewpoint I would give it a 7 out of ten. From a Tolkien lore lover viewpoint, I would give it a two out of ten. Thats a average of 4.5 out of ten. (some people are probably wondering why I only put one star, and honestly, its because I would rather not have you give your money and time to a corporation that gladly tosses a mans works out the window when they see its "problematic")

Entertaining and Interesting

I see all there reviews about how it’s not the same as what Tolkien said it would be, and while it’s not, that doesn’t discredit the fact that it’s entertaining. So what if they sacrificed some story for diversity? LOTR is about as white as a blizzard. I think that having female and black leads is a good thing. I personally was looking for a good fantasy show, and that’s what I got. 9/10

The Rings of Power successfully exceeds expectations with its fascinating plot and stunning production.

Despite a difficult legacy to live up to, and an unfairly critical fanbase, The Rings of Power has shattered countless low expectations. I personally went into the show skeptical, but it has quickly risen to become one of my favorite TV series in recent memory. The show is extremely well-made, and I find myself in awe of the production quality more with each episode. The acting, visuals, music, format, props, cinematography, and sound design are all incredible, not to mention the series’ intriguing story and characters that keep you invested from week to week. That said, there are various things parents should keep in mind before allowing their kids to watch with them. This is Lord of the Rings after all… SCARINESS: Naturally, the forces of evil, in classic Lord of the Rings fashion, are creepy. A sense of incoming dread permeates the story, and various frightening moments take place along the way. One particular scene in episode 2 feels straight out of a horror film, with an orc hunting down a mother and son in a darkened house. There is one jump-scare involved in this scene. VIOLENCE: While the violence in the series initially doesn’t stray much from the level in Peter Jackson’s films, it is still quite severe. Of course, the typical stabs and slices occur, with a general wear-and-tear of battle bloodying our heroes slightly. A snow troll loses a limb and is stabbed in the head, splattering briefly. An orc is decapitated and its head is placed on a tavern counter. An orc licks blood off of a sword. A warg attacks multiple prisoners, and in a particularly graphic moment, rips open the bodies of two people. A man’s throat is slit, and while the bloody side faces away from the camera, he dies on screen. A man is shot twice in the chest by arrows and a small amount of blood comes from his mouth. An orc head is placed atop a sharp post. Multiple human corpses are shown close up. An orc’s eye is gouged out and sprays blood for an extended period of time. A woman is shot through the shoulder and the arrow is removed on-screen; a LOT of flowing blood is shown close up. Multiple young and old humans are slowly stabbed through the gut by various orcs. During a fast-paced battle, orcs lose limbs and heads with plenty of blood to show for it.

A Must Wach

I do not understand why the sires is getting such bad reviews. I am so for REALLY enjoying it watching. I know that a lot of people this is " not related to middle earth". I would say it is offering a whole different perspective of middle earth and is really well done. I gave this a 13 plus rating because there are some bloody scenes. Rings of Power also has its fair share of jump scares. It is very interesting to see middle earth before the sorans rise to power.

It’s awesome!!

Come on, it’s not a bad tv show. It’s awesome, I enjoyed the first two episodes. Yes, there are a lot of things that the filmakers changed from the books written by Tolkien, but, as a Tolkien fan, I’ve been waiting this series for a long time, read his appendixes and novels. It’s the best series ever. The filmakers did a great job and made a great effort filming it. You should be thankful that it is not inapproppiate as GOT and the Wheel of Time, as many people were afraid of. I’m glad LOTR is still alive. (Months later…): Even though I ENJOYED the show, I expected something better. Some storylines are slower than others. I thought there’ll be more than ten episodes in the first season. I’m not so influenced with the character of Galadriel, just because her elven ears are hidden by her hair and because of her character. Violence is less severe than P. Jackson’s movies. But I enjoyed the series a lot. I hope season two will be much better. Until 2024.

Amazon actually made a good movie🤯

Pretty good, has the feel of authentic LOTR style, but some of the depicted monsters are a bit over the top. Despite that, I’m definitely looking forward to watching it. Storyline sounds cool.

Not bad

It's okay, I'm not a diehard LotR fan, but this show was pretty good. I like the characters and storyline, but kind of gory. If you aren't a fan of blood and violence, this show is not for you, because that's most of it. I really enjoy Galadriel's storyline and Elrond's, but that's probably because I am familiar with these characters. The new characters are pretty good though. Great cast and acting, good storylines, great costumes, and setting. It can get boring at times, but it was the same for me with the original films. The episodes are very long so make sure you have time to watch this. Overall, if you are a Lord of the Rings fan and can sit through those films, then I'd recommend.

Amazing for LoTR fans :DD

Only watched the first episode, but so far it’s good - there’s violence and fighting monsters but nothing more than the original movies so if you’ve watched LoTR or the Hobbit you’ll be fine. I doubt this series would be good if you aren’t familiar with the others though. The scenery and visuals are amazing too :)) Not as good as the original movies, but good entertainment. Edit: the elf’s aren’t very elf-y. The just don’t have the ‘prescience’ that they had in the other movies - they act and move and speak like men with pointy ears. The Harfoots kinda make up for it though, love them ^^ Another edit: Just watched the third episode, and they kinda went overboard with the orc scenes - really scary atmosphere and all that, and someone gets eaten alive by a Warg (there’s blood). You might not want to watch this if you scare easy.
