Will SuperKitties help the criminals change?

SuperKitties is the best show I ever watched! Totally like Dora The Explorer since the sneaky fox Swiper learns his lesson just like the villains in SuperKitties! This world honestly needs more kid shows so criminals in general can be more peaceful!

What's the Story?

In SUPERKITTIES, four superhero cats help the people and pets of Kittydale. Ginny, Sparks, Buddy, and Bitsy seem like ordinary adorable kittens who love to play and nap. But when they get the Super Kitty Call, they transform into superheroes and use their yarn blasters and other gadgets to save the day. They are always being tested by Kittydale's villains like Cat Burglar (who, naturally, steals things), Lab Rat (an evil-genius inventor type), and others who do things like steal all the yarn or squash all the flowers in Kittydale. While at first it seems like they're just being mean, the SuperKitties learn that the villain was upset by losing a blankie or having a very special flower stomped by accident. The SuperKitties solve Kittydale's problem, and also help the villain make amends for their wrongs in the process.

Is It Any Good?

Our review:
Parents say (6 ):
Kids say (3 ):

As a topical mashup of superheroes and cats (like preschool favorites Paw Patrol and Gabby's Dollhouse), this show covers familiar little kid subject matter. That said, the combination of adorable kittens, adventures, and helping others makes SuperKitties catnip for preschoolers. There's upbeat superhero music and montages reminiscent of The Incredibles. Grown-ups will appreciate that the cats model positive social-emotional skills; they try to connect with the villains and understand why they acted the way they did. While there's nothing terribly groundbreaking about SuperKitties, it's an upbeat series preschoolers will enjoy and grown-ups can feel good about.

Talk to Your Kids About ...

  • Families can talk about how the SuperKitties have empathy for everyone in Kittydale -- even the villains. How do you think the kitties can feel the emotions of the bad guys, and help them even when they did not-so-nice things?

  • Families can talk about how the SuperKitties use teamwork to solve the problem. Do you think any one cat could have solved the problem by themself?

  • Some people might not think that the SuperKitties could be helpful because they're so cute and small. What are some ways that little kids like you can make a difference and help people?
