Amazing!

It's like an animal soap opera! We can't get enough. May be a bit much for very young children if you think seeing animals die would be distressing to them. But fir bigger kids, I would imagine it's fine.

Never Heard Tales Of Africa Quite Like This!

I watch educational shows such as this all the time and Discovery was right...There has been several shows about Africa but none quite like this!!! I absolutely love it, I hope it comes back for many more seasons!!! Thank you Discovery for giving us such a great family show to watch! The reason I put the kid's age at 10 is because I believe that children do not understand "death" until at least that age. My son lost his father at 8 but he still has a hard time watching someone/something lose their life and he's now 18! Also, kids do not quite understand the "The Circle Of Life". Other that that...WE LOVE IT AND WE WATCH EVERY WEEK!!!

Is It Any Good?

This visually stunning series creates dramatic stories, assigning animals human traits and creating plots about the relationships between them. Specific animals are molded into characters, and this, combined with the musical score and the way the year's worth of video footage is edited, helps produce this vivid story world. It's often more entertaining than educational, and sometimes feels like it is attempting to motivate future support for African conservation efforts. This isn't necessarily a bad thing, but there are moments when the emotions being assigned to the animals occasionally seem a bit over the top. Nonetheless, Serengeti is compelling, and offers charm, tension, and interesting moments that will captivate audiences of all ages.
