What's the Story?
MARVEL SUPER HERO ADVENTURES is a preschool-oriented superhero series featuring Spider-Man and his friends. Peter Parker, aka Spider-Man (Cole Howard), is always looking for ways to help people. He teams up with other Marvel heroes like Black Panther (Omari Newton) and Captain America (Michael Daingerfield) to fight supervillains like Doctor Octopus (Luc Roderique) and Batroc The Leaper (Mark Oliver). Throughout it all, Spider-Man makes sure to teach about the benefits of patience, friendship, and working in teams.
Is It Any Good?
Each three-minute installment of this mild and entertaining miniseries features Spider-Man and other superheroes helping people retrieve cats, fly model planes, and above all, fight crime. These versions of the Marvel superhero crew appear softer, rounder, and more reflective of a younger kid's toy. Meanwhile, each story is short, simple, and easily understood.
Kids who like superhero-themed action will most likely be drawn to this friendly series, which is much more age-appropriate than its movie counterparts. But there's still some fantasy violence, and a few villains that very young kids might find a little scary. Nonetheless, Marvel Super Hero Adventures offers some positive teachable moments.
Talk to Your Kids About ...

Who's your favorite Marvel character? Why? Is he or she a super hero or a super villain?
Do you think it's possible for kids to watch Marvel Super Hero Adventures and not be influenced by marketers? How can we help kids be more savvy about the ways companies advertise to them?
