What's the Story?

KINGS FROM QUEENS: THE RUN DMC STORY follows Joseph Simmons (Reverend Run), Darryl McDaniels (DMC), and Jason Mizell (Jam Master Jay) as they come together to create the iconic hip-hop group Run DMC. The docuseries follows their rise, their height of fame, and coming face to face with personal tragedy and, ultimately, triumph.

This is a great docuseries for Black History Month viewing or any time that music fans want to delve into the ins, outs, and influences of the pioneering group. Kings From Queens: The Run DMC Story focuses on the group's experiences from the surviving members, Simmons and McDaniels, as well as from their contemporaries, including rappers and other notables in the hip-hop world. As a whole it brings more context to how and why Run DMC were able to rise to the top of the music industry and influence generations of rappers and rap fans.
