Names are great

I watch this cartoon with my 2yr old all the time. I personally love the idea that Cleo is excited about every career that she discovers (house keeper, driver, vet,Gardner, police). These parents fussing about Cuquin's name, really need to get a grip. Are you seriously suggesting a change of the SPANISH character's name because you neglected to educate your children on different cultures and pronunciations? There is literally a Disney series called Nicky,Ricky,DICKY and Dawn, but we have no problem understanding that DICKY is just a person's name. The characters are great, the names are great, the cartoon is just great.

Educate your children on different cultures and learn how to pronounce a new name

Wow I can’t believe how many moms are banning a show because they can’t wrap their mind over something outside of American culture. How about you teach your child how to say Cuquin (Coo-Keen) instead of turning down a different culture. All of your little Jaydens and Kaydens will thank you later.

Very annoying and lazy writing

The show on Netflix is very annoying and is very lazy in animation, writing, and much more. Many of the characters have poor voice acting and the baby, Cuquin, is always causing all the trouble, and usually gets away with it by hiding under his "hoodie". The baby also jumps around on his butt, and in which resulted in all my kids replicating his behavior. The show has very lazy writing in which each ending shows that the older sister, Cleo, says she finally knows what she wants to be when she grows up, and then names the profession shown in the episode. Many of the characters aren't very good role models, either. The ballerina is shown to act all cocky and thinks shes in the spotlight at all times. The baby, Cuquin, also causes lots of trouble for everyone and always gets away with it. Many of the characters also have very poor voice acting, and sure, the origin of the show was an old spanish show, but that doesn't mean that the actors should't put effort into translating it. Many parents should just pick another show or research another one if they want shows to share good role models. This show will just mass produce very lame and low effort 5 minute episodes. Summary: The characters are NOT good rolemodels for kids, the show is lazily made, voice acting is very lame, and the show is just annoying in general for all parents.

Great cartoon for kids the theme song is a jam!

My grandson Is 2 he'll be 3 in February, his mom ( my daughter) introduced him to this cartoon. This cartoon is a joy to my little guy, his face lights up whenever he hears the theme song he actually sings the song the concept behind this cartoon is awesome.i appreciate the way it encourages a child to pretend and how to solve situations. Not to mention being of mixed ethnicity (African American and Hispanic) i love the fact that the creators decided to give the name Cuquin my grandson pronounces it without any problems it's a very safe to watch cartoon that i personally don't worry about it showing something that could be misleading such as bad language or having my grandson trying to reenact something not safe because he saw it on t.v and is now emulating what he's witnessed I believe that Cleo and cuquin is a great learning tool. I wish all children programming was this excellent! Lets admit there are some that should be removed from the airways because they promote dangerous play habit forming bad words so once again hats off to the creators and Continued blessings.

Imaginative and Problem Solving

In each episode Cleo, her brother Cuquin, and their friends explore various skills and careers, often solving a problem in the process. I don’t understand why Cuquin doesn’t walk. He is able to stand and walk, but seems to prefer to bounce around on his butt.

Inclusive

It's an adorable show that captivates our children in a sweet way, not in a zombified way. The best part, it envelops parts of my culture as a Latinx mother with half Latinx half American kiddos.

Cute, simple and fun

My two boys are 5 and 7, and this show is geared toward younger kids. However, they request to watch it here and there and always seem to enjoy it! I never even put together the name of the little brother sounding like cocaine until I read these reviews. Let’s focus on what matters: the kids interact well, are kind to each other, go on adventures and have wonderful imaginations. This IS a good clean show, and I’m so sorry some folks are uncomfortable with it just because the title sounds like something it absolutely is not.

Lost in Translation

I'm sorry to burst the positive bubble, but definitely sounds like "cocaine". Why? Because when we translate from Spanish to English, we forget to account for the special symbols on certain letters like ñ or í. These symbols change the pronunciation of a word. For example, "year" in spanish is "año"; if you forget the symbol above the n .. then the word means butthole. Yep! The correct spelling is "cuquín" with an emphasis on the i because of the symbol. Also, Cleo is not pronouncing it correctly. She is saying Cokin and it's Kookeen with an emphasis at the end like I explained earlier. I totally agree with teaching our kids different cultures and languages. I am a Spanish speaker - first generation Latin American..so for me it's important to teach my daughter correct Spanish not Americanized. Just like I want her to master other languages correctly. In Spanish, it does not sound like cocaine at all but when we translate it in English, it certainly does sound like it. Yes cute show but just because something looks cute we can't ignore the message it sends. Thank you.

“Cocaine” or not, very cute

This is an unbelievably cute show, every episode has a small problem, solved with some underlying aspects of a career ending with the title character Cleo saying “and now I know what I want to be when I grow up! A (insert career here)” Very imaginative and toddler friendly without showing all the excitability of some toddler shows. While my 2.5 year old spent about 2/3 weeks asking “can I wash cocaine?” I couldn’t help but have a mommy moment to hide my laughter and correct her to saying Cleo until we could say Cuquin. To the parents conplaining he should be renamed, this is an actual name, while not for American babies per say, it is a name. I’d rather her ask for cocaine in public and say “you want to watch Cuquin?” and see her excitement than Americanize a show that wasn’t originally.
