What's the Story?
In BECCA'S BUNCH, a spunky young bird named Becca (voiced by Noa Fe Williams) finds all kinds of adventures for herself and her pals Sylvia (Susie Power), Russell (Dylan Martin Frankel), and Pedro (Ben Stone Zelman). When your home is the bustling Wagtail Woods, there's always something new to explore or experience, and the best way to do that is with best friends who help you stick to it even when things don't go exactly right. Together this group builds things, searches for legendary creatures, and makes unforgettable discoveries around their home.
Is It Any Good?
Multiple animation styles converge to create the charming visual effect of this quaint preschool series. Becca and her friends are impossibly cute, made all the more so by their big personalities. The four main characters are very different from each other, and with Becca's gregariousness, Russell's carefree enthusiasm, Pedro's cautiousness, and Sylvia's quiet loyalty, kids are sure to relate to some and be inspired by others.
Becca's Bunch caters to the preschool audience with engaging scenarios and stories that emphasize themes about overcoming challenges and being a good friend and neighbor. As kids see Becca and her friends work together to accomplish goals, they will recognize the value of the characters' cooperation and respect for each other. It's only by sharing ideas and trying new things that these woodland creatures enjoy their memorable adventures.
Talk to Your Kids About ...
Families can talk about how the characters' different personalities are presented in Becca's Bunch. How can you tell that the friends respect each other even though they're very different? What instances of them accommodating each other's needs or emotions do you see? Do their experiences teach you anything you can use in your relationships with friends?
Kids: Does Becca's gregarious nature resonate with you, or do you tend to be more like one of her friends? How does your personality influence how you approach new experiences? Why is it important to be open to new things? How can doing so help you discover traits like courage and perseverance that might surprise you?
Do you like this show's unique animation style? How do the props and woodland setting contribute to the stories? Do the characters' appearances enhance their personalities?
