This outstanding podcast is a celebration of some of today's most influential kid activists. One example episode from The Activators! features Khole Thompson, who founded Khole Kares, an organization that helps unhoused women in Los Angeles by providing Kare Bags that include two- to three-months' worth of basic supplies. To educate others around her efforts to spread the message that unhoused people aren't scary, Thompson offers leadership classes to fellow kids and published a book titled The Girl Who Became the Change. During her episode, Thompson also talks about the time she spent in Ghana helping get communities access to clean water. Like Thompson, each featured "Activator" provides their perspective, awareness of needs in their communities, and passion for humanity by helping others. As you listen, you can't help but feel a sense of hope for the future.

Host Leo Abelo Perry connects with guests and kid listeners throughout each episode. He regularly prompts listeners and guests to engage in a personal check-in on how they're feeling to normalize the range of emotions and experiences that life throws at kids on any given day. And the featured activists do a beautiful job modeling that check-in aloud for listeners. Each episode wraps up meaningfully with Perry summarizing new learnings and general messages that can be taken from the conversation with the kid activists.
