What’s It About?
HADA DE FRESA is a collection of classic story retellings and original stories with a very bright and cheerful presentation. This podcast is based on a successful and very colorful YouTube channel from Spain that teaches and educates kids on a wide range of topics. Children who've watched the channel will recognize the two puppets in audio form, Brownie and Fresi, a little bear and a unicorn with very high-pitched voices joined alongside their fairy guardian, Hada de Fresa. Brownie and Fresi are easy for kids to connect with due to their childlike nature: They're cheerful, energetic, and a little impulsive. The stories include lessons on humility, friendship, communication, and growth. Others focus on more difficult issues like separation of parents and bed-wetting, but the characters tackle these topics with empathy and understanding. Since this podcast is geared toward younger kids, it's beneficial for adults to listen alongside them in order to discuss the morals, values, and lessons within each story. Every episode ends with a shout-out to a listener of the show who excels at school or hits a special milestone.
Is It Any Good?
This lively podcast is sure to pique kids' interest since it's based on a wildly popular YouTube channel. Kids won't be able to get enough of the show's colorful cast of characters, all of whom have very distinct personalities and are relatable to younger kids. Though many of the stories are designed to be bedtime stories, it's worth mentioning that the characters' high-pitch voices may energize rather than lull children to sleep.
Parents will enjoy that the stories are a great entryway for kids to learn about classic tales for the first time, while older children will gain a new understanding of the deeper meanings and values within these stories. The host doesn't always explicitly explain the messages of each story, which encourages children to think for themselves and absorb the meanings at their own pace. Though the quality of audio production is good, it tends to be loud and a little rambunctious.
