Addams Family movie review

violence 3.5/5: fake blood is shown spurting out when the kids fight in the middle of the move. A hand is shown moving around off of someones arm. A doll's head gets chopped off. A kid is electricuted in an electric chair. Lots of sword/knife fighting. A gun is pointed at someone. People drink poison. sexual content and nudity 3/5: Statues are visibly shown with women's boobs and butt and a statue of a mans chest is shown too. Fester kisses Wednesday's doll in her room. Lots of Kissing throughout the movie and in one seen the kissing turns into sex. Although the sex is off screen you can her it in the background like the moaning. In the first scene of the movie a miniature Gomez is shown kissing his wife's breast (with her clothes on). Fester lusts for Wednesday although we don't see anything. Fester also smells a woman's breast with her clothes on. language: half a dozen uses of d--n, 4 uses of moron and of oh my God, and one use each of what the h-ll and what the devil Alcohol and drugs 2/5: Cigar and alcohol drinking. Gomez states he's been smoking since he was 5.

Good movie, too much sex

Overall, pretty good movie! It is not for kids under 11 though. There is a bit too much sexual refrences, (actually moderate sexual refrences). In my opinion, there wasn't THAT much violence, but there was some.

It’s darker than you would suspect

There’s a lot of kissing not just on the lips but on the cheek hand and arm. Gomez and Marticia enjoy kissing. They use various weapons like swords knives, ( in fact they danced with like 7 knives) pugsley sits in a electric chair. A gun points at Gomez and there’s a hurricane basically inside. Marticia is tortured ate the beginning the Addams pours something on innocent people. Gomez has smoked sense he was 5. There’s graves and coffins for dead people there’s also a statue of naked people.

Sometimes inappropriate but good

There are a few sexual refrences, such as when you can hear Gomez and Mortisha ‘Having some fun’ at the auction, or when Gomez was rescuing Mortisha and Gomez was talking about Red hot pokers and leather straps, and Mortisha said to him “Later.” They’re obvious very passionate about each other, and as said in the sequel to Wednesday, ‘Your parents seem to be very intimate with each other.” The kids were raised in a very peculiar way. In one scene Wednesday try’s to electrocute Pugsly, with her mother not minding so much. In another scene, Wednesday goes after her brother with her knife. Mortisha takes it off her and replaces it with a much larger one, much to the joy of Wednesday. Violence, the class show has a lot of fake blood, and there are some scenes with sword fighting and torture. Gomez is sometimes shown smoking a cigar, saying that ‘He had smoked since he was 5, as his mother insisted.’ Alcohol is briefly mentioned and shown. Hell and damn are the only bad words said to my memory (I just watched the movie for the 26th time) and used barely ever. Personally, they could’ve toned down the sexual references. I only caught them because of how dirty minded my friends are. They will go over the heads of kids under 11 or 10. All in all, great movie. Anjelica Houston did an amazing job as Mortisha. 10/10.

Sequel's better. But it's really good.

I enjoy Addams Family. I love the darker comedy. There is no sex or swearing, but there is also no good messages or role models.

Fun and Not Too Inappropriate

The Addamses are a bit darker in the movie, but all in all mild for PG-13. Some mild language. Apparently sexual references. I didn't pick them up, but I have an innocent mind. Kids might be confused at how the Addamses are good guys but they do some mean-spirited things such as taking away a stop sign, leading to an unseen accident. As always Gomez smokes, but should be okay for most 10 year olds, and not too sensitve younger kids. The messages are that sometimes people seeming evil are really nicer than seemingly sweet and loving people, and you could have a large fortune but without friends or family it's pointless to have them.

spooky

I love the 90s, because it was full of movies like this one. I would have preferred to see Cher as Morticia, to be honest, but Anjelica Huston played the part well. I love Christina's acting here, she portrays Wednesday's character well. It's a good movie to watch, but with children, be mindful of these things: it can be quite cringe at times, especially the relationship between Morticia and Gomez, where they can't keep their hands off of each other for one second. It's kind of gross, they do make out several times, but nothing s*xual happens. I don't recall any language, although there is violence and dark themes throughout the movie. That's all I can think of for now. Overall, I would recommend this movie, it's funny and very much perfect for Halloween!
