Star Trek 3

Well, I think that this movie is pretty good, It is not as good as the second one, though. But, it is still way better than the first one. The end fight scene is so good, because instead of spaceships, there are motor cycles, and blasters. The character's outfits look cool, like super hero costumes. The evil person would be kind of creepy, but his alien face looks like he is always doing a goofy smile, so its not really that scary. The movie has a lot of fight scenes on planets instead of space in huge space ships, which I think gets kind of boring. The movie has a pretty simple story. I think that I would rate this movie Only P-G The only part that's kind of for older adiences is when a character pulls a piece of metal out of another person to help him. In conclusion, this movie is pretty good.

Better than ā€œInto Darkness.ā€

Enjoyable movie, the best since Star Trek 2009.

A little long, but still enjoyable in violent movie adaptation

My rating PG-13 for language in sci-fi action violence. There is violence including shooting in fighting and many stuff that might frighten sensitive fans. Plus the S word is used sometimes.

Compared to what's on cable this is fine for families

Although it doesn't quite reach the heights of the first reboot movie, Beyond definitely scores better than the second film, with a stronger story (in part thanks to it not being a remake/mashup of at least two earlier Trek films), a bunch of great characters, and the film also takes a moment to pay tribute to a recently lost classic-era actor. It's a bit violent, but in a comic book sense and not enough for me to put a violence tag on this review. The film has a bit of cursing but most people hear worse on cable now - or in other PG-13 movies, to be honest and the curses are actually milder than some of the ones the original Bones uttered in the early Trek films; again, not enough for me to put the swearing tag on. I actually think the film should have been rated PG as it's not that bad. I also have to applaud how the film handled the revelation that Sulu is gay. It's a 10-second scene where we see Sulu put his arm around his husband and say hello to his daughter. That's it. It's handled matter-of-factly and proves you don't need to hammer it home (often with sex scenes) the way so many other TV shows do (I'm looking at you, Doctor Who spin-off Class). If it's something you just can't abide by - it is literally one of those moments where you just need to distract someone for couple seconds and it's over and done with and they get on with the movie. No biggie. But for those who want to celebrate the moment, it is very well handled and provides some emotional resonance later in the film, too. (It also makes one hope to see more of Sulu and his family if they ever make a fourth film.)

Reality vs. alternate reality

Sulu is not the captain, and I was really sick and tired of the camera constantly being on him and him constantly having almost all of the commanding lines in the movie. What? Is his father the writer? Captain Kirk is supposed to be the one shown in power and authority of the ship. I didn't care for Sulu's character at all. I hope they remove him from the next series. Otherwise, the movie was a great production. Thank you. Geraldine.

Fun!

The movie was very entertaining, but not as good as Star Trek (2009) Star Trek Into Darkness (2013) or Star Trek First Contact (1996)
