Beautiful, and heart-rendering.
This movie was wonderful. I got very emotional at some point, especially dealing with what Little had went through. I also just realized the movie cover had Little (turquoise), Black (purple), and finally, Chiron (blue)!! I thought I was tripping but my friend told me I was right lol. heart touching movie!

Moonlight
This film was ok but it does not skip on the swearing and the violence. There are a lot of uses of the f word the n-word and the s word. But overall this film shows a lot about life is like you take drugs and when you get bullied by your best friends. The is a gay scene but not graphic at all. The is a sex scene but not nudity.

best A24 movie
A good portrait of a life of a black gay person. The film talks about finding your own identity and not letting society force one on you.
There is swearing (f*g, n*gga etc.), drug use, brief non-graphic violence, and some non-explicit sex
SPOILERS:
A character has two wet dreams, only his facial expressions are shown.
Two characters have clothed sex on a beach, no nudity, nothing sexually explicit

If you have mature kids, this movie is fine!
Don't worry, it's not as bad as people make it seem. If you just skip over one dream sequence, the sex stuff isn't that bad and this is a great movie to provoke discussion in your family and make your kids sensitive to stuff about race and sexuality. There's drugs and language, but if your kids are at a certain age, they already know about those things. If not, as I already said, this a great movie to teach them about this.

While the violence is not very harsh or graphic, it does pack a punch on an emotional level and ultimately ontological level in reference to realistic psychological pain that results from institutional problems of the state.
Moonlight witnesses a boy grow up in the housing projects, with a mother addicted to drugs and no father. He doesn't get adequate help from the school, in regards to academics or counselling.
The film breaks many boundaries and encourages free independent thought in the way it deals with stereotypes. The boys only father figure is a drug dealer, who has a soft spot for him. His mother, a drug addict, almost attacks him to get money for cocaine. For many people, this movie could challenge many inherent biases that teens and adults have regarding race, power, and society.
With that said, I would not recommend this for "fragile," young teens. A very harsh emotional moment occurs when the boy's only friend is forced to hit him repeatedly by a school bully.
All in all, one of the best movies ever made.

Moonlight is a Heartfelt Drama for Mature Audiences
Moonlight is a masterpiece. However, it deals with a number of intense themes such as drug abuse, growing up in extreme poverty and bullying as well as finding sexual identity that may be better understood and put into perspective by a more mature audience.
The film is told from the perspective of a boy growing up in a neighborhood of extreme poverty, wherein he is bullied at school and comes home to a drug-addicted mother. Moonlight is a cinematic exploration of his coming-of-age and discovery of his identity, both sexually and as a person, through the culmination of the circumstances he is faced with. Through a psychological insight into Chiron's life, we see the toll these circumstances take on his life, and through this, we are offered a vicarious thought-provoking view on life in general as well as an insight into good and bad influences and their impacts on the physical and psychological development of a person. And through this, Moonlight creates a highly impactful story.
Moonlight integrates several intense themes into an intense, emotional and thought-provoking drama that is better understood by a more mature audience.

Profound Message
This movie has made such an impact on me. I would definitely recommend that anyone younger than 13 watch it with a parent because there is one scene in specific that is a little graphic sexually when the main character, Chiron has a dream about a boy and girl having intercourse. Another scene depicts two boys making out after getting high. Other scenes insinuate drug use and Chiron's mother is a drug addict There is also frequent use of "f--ggot" which isnt great for young kids.
But this movie has such a deep message, and there is no unnecessary inappropriate part because, in the end, it is a movie about sexuality and self discovery. It is thought provoking and tear jerking, and one of the best movies of all time.

Sex (4/5): One sex scene which is somewhat graphic and, a handjob scene depicting orgasm.
Violence (2/5): Not much is shown. A bloody fistfight and a chair smash over someones back.
Language (3/5): Nothing too bad. F word used somewhat frequently.
Overall, "Moonlight" is an important film for teens to see but, might not be okay fort teens under 15.
