Not worth the time or money

Definitely not worth watching, my kids didn’t like it nor did I. Better off watching the other toy stories at home with the family instead of this one.

Pandering cash grab of a movie that lacks any of the charm of the beloved character that the movie is based on. Watch Turning Red instead. It’s free.

The cat steals the show!

My seven-year-old and I loved the movie! It was a lot of fun, especially in 3-D! Highly recommend. Lots of action, but not too scary. I liked how one character had to overcome her greatest fear. Good lessons in perseverance and working together. Just like in Captain Marvel, our favorite character was the cat!

Overall Great family movie!!

We are a huge Pixar family and we couldn't wait to go see Lightyear! I took my three kids ages 3,3 & 7, 7 year old nephew and also had two 14 year old girls. Overall reviews for the movie were great, everyone loved it especially one of my 3 year olds. It was awesome seeing the other side of Buzz and the story was awesome. There is quite a bit of violence but nothing is gross violence or "too much". No harsh words or anything. Consumerism is very low of any at all, that I noticed. There is a Felon/Convict friend to Buzz, who is nothing but hilarious. Also another subject that has seemed to bother quite some people is the fact Buzz's best friend(a woman) gets married to another woman and they create a family. For my family this is a non issue and isn't viewed any differently by my kids as we teach them about everyone and equality, so the kids didn't even blink an eye to it. I actually loved that piece to the story! It's good to see it so shown wholesomely. A few parts made my 3 year olds close their eyes, but who isn't scared of Zurg!? Lol Overall great movie for the entire family. We loved it and will watch it many more times I'm sure.

Representing ALL Families!

The thing that stood out the most for me in this movie was representation. Different cultures, body types and sexual orientations present, many children can see their own family represented in this movie which is so refreshing. A little peck on the couple's 40th anniversary was met with no more reaction that a man and woman kissing in a theatre full of kids. A couple jumpy moments with robots, but nothing too scary. The cat (Socks) add some great humourous elements too!

not as good as expected.

it was more of a violent movie then i anticipated. my kids (3,5,7) lost interest before the movie was over because the plot was hard to follow. most of the jokes went over their heads. won’t watch again. kids weren’t thrilled.

This is from my seven year old: "I really liked it. Especially the funny robot cat. And it teaches kids about time and space travel."
